Blue Chip Riesling takes home Gold!
Eldredge Wines are thrilled that the inaugural 2018 ‘Blue Chip’ Riesling took home a GOLD medal at the prestigious 2018 Canberra International Wine Challenge with a score of 95 points.
This single vineyard wine represents the ultimate expression of varietal fruit flavour and winemaking excellence by Leigh Eldredge, Winemaker and Owner of Eldredge Wines.
This delicate floral Riesling is created with Estate only fruit being machine harvested, then gently pressed using only the finest free-run juice. A long, slow cold fermentation in stainless steel tanks follows, and the wine is then bottled with minimal fining and filtration to produce a refined, elegant Riesling.
The Canberra International Riesling Challenge (CIRC) is a wine competition created to highlight the grape that defines white wine, Riesling. The Riesling Challenge attracts wines from Riesling producing countries around the world and is the most significant event of its type in the southern hemisphere. By entering the Challenge, Riesling producers will be competing not only with producers from their region, but with 500 other Rieslings from across the world [including Germany, France, USA & New Zealand] for the opportunity to be judged as the Best Wine of the Challenge. Gold and silver medal winners at the CIRC qualify for entry to the National Wine Show.”
