‘Louie’ Cabernet
$28.00
‘Louie’ Cabernet is named after co-owner Karen’s late father. Louie rather enjoyed the Eldredge Cabernet and fondly referred to it as ‘My Claret’.
First released in 1991, the ‘Louie’ Cabernet has been a consistent performer around the globe. The wine is dark brick red in colour with magenta hues. A bouquet of dark berry fruits with a hint of smokiness and spice is evident on the nose, whilst complex aromatics of wild sage, tobacco, cassis, blueberry and sweet cedar excite the palate, along with aniseed and cinnamon from the well-seasoned oak. It is full and round in the mouth, with no hard edges. A strand of vanilla weaves through the flavour profile and it is an inviting, warming red of good character. The wine will cellar well for 8-10 years.
Alc 14.3%, T/A 7.8, pH 3.3
